Winter came, as an unwelcome guest this morning.
Like the in-laws who come one too many times. (I don't have any - I'm using this for poetic purposes!)
In November, the first flakes are magical, serene and lovely.
In December, the snow banks call you to come out and romp and play.
The snow makes the Christmas lights and Christmas tree look all the lovelier.
The snow then is like a beautiful garment, that adorns the earth.
But in April, the snow is an unwanted guest,
one that you would rather avoid.
It has not changed.
It's lightness and beauty are still there.
The pure whiteness is still a carpet to wash the earth.
But my eyes and my heart ache to see green and color;
to have growth and change.
